What is BIS CRS?

01. Eligibility & Product Assessment
Your product will be assessed against the notified product categories covered by the Compulsory Registration Order (CRO) to determine the relevant Indian Standards.
02. Appointment of Authorized Indian Representative (For Foreign Manufacturers)
Foreign manufacturers need to authorize an AIR to deal with the BIS through a formal authorization agreement. SR Services will be your trusted AIR.
03. Application Submission
Online application submission through the BIS website with product information, technical specifications, etc.
04. Product Testing
Product testing by a product testing lab accredited by the BIS to confirm compliance with the relevant Indian Standards.
05. Declaration of Conformity
The manufacturer submits a declaration to the BIS stating that the product complies with the relevant safety and quality requirements.
06. Grant of Registration (R-Number)
Once the application is evaluated and approved by the BIS, a Registration Certificate with an R-Number will be issued. Registration validity is for 1-2 years.
07. BIS Standard Marking
Products need to be marked with the Standard Mark along with the R-Number before they enter the Indian market.
